It has been a pleasure to watch Maddalena Cordella find her own groove at this young winery. She took over this estate in the Tuscan Hills in 1998 from her father, but it wasn’t until 2006 that they decided to vinify their own grapes, as opposed to selling them.
Her wines really came into their own in 2010 when they built a brand new winery for their 14 hectares of vines, and I am thrilled that today Cordella is pouring the 2010 Brunello, my favorite and highest ranked of her line- up thus far.
The future is bright for this winery, which also practices organic viticulture.
